Annual Events
Aside from rush weeks, our chapter throws many large-scale annual events each year, made possible by our quarterly dues. A list of these events includes:
- Pig Dinner – held in May. A formal occasion that brings together hundreds of FIJI graduates from all over together with our undergraduate chapter for a dinner.
- Purple Garter Formal – a joint formal that includes multiple FIJI chapters.
- Black Diamond Formal – local formal of the Iota Chi Chapter.
- Big Bear Winter Break Brotherhood Retreat – follows finals week of fall quarter each year; a chance for brothers to take a small winter vacation, ski, snowboard, and bond.
- Spring Quarter Senior Retreat – a chance for brothers to send their farewells to graduating seniors on a weekend-long camping trip.
- FIJI’s Fright Fest Halloween Party – hosted at a local venue.
- FIJI’s Mardi Gras Party - hosted at a local venue.
- Parents’ Day – A day for parents of our undergraduate brothers to come together for an open house with a potluck and friendly softball game.
There are many simply events and activities to look forward to each quarter in FIJI – we definitely seek to maximize our college experience. We also plan quarterly Brotherhood Dinners, exchanges with sororities, and more. Some of the school-wide activities we as a chapter actively participate in are other fraternity/sorority’s philanthropic events, Songfest, Greek Week, Intramural Sports (IFC Competitive League).
Brothers individually have involvements in many campus clubs, departments, internships, student government (especially ASUCI), athletics, and club sports.
